Flag Retirement Ceremony
The American flag is a sacred symbol of our nation's spirit and the sacrifices made by our Veterans and First Responders. When a flag becomes worn, faded, or tattered, it should no longer be displayed, but rather retired with the dignity and honor it deserves. The Roll Call Foundation provides a sanctuary for these flags, ensuring they are disposed of according to the United States Flag Code.

The Proper Method

According to the U.S. Flag Code, the preferred method of retirement is by a dignified fire. The flag should be folded traditionally, placed on a consecrated fire, and reduced to ashes while those present stand at attention or salute.

Our Role

We accept tattered or faded flags year-round at our facility. Our Veteran community takes great pride in leading these ceremonies, providing a final act of service to the colors they once stood to protect.

Community Impact

These ceremonies serve as a powerful educational tool for the community and a moment of reflection for our heroes. It is a time to gather, remember our history, and reinforce our commitment to the values the flag represents.

Upcoming Ceremony

Join us for our next public Flag Retirement Ceremony. We invite families, youth groups, and local organizations to witness this solemn tradition.
